Well hello! Where on earth does the time go eh, it seems to fly by faster each year?! This style post has been a long time coming I know, but life gets in the way sometimes, as I’m sure you guys appreciate. I’ve wanted to share these gorgeous leather boots, from my seasonal wardrobe for a while now, so here goes..
In winter, you NEED good boots. I’ve always been more of a boot gal than a shoe gal (due to the fact I cannot ‘do’ heels), so I love winter footwear when it’s this good. This brand are one of my go-to’s as they have arch support to help keep feet in perfect alignment. I over-pronate (go over on my feet inwards) as well as having plantar fasciitis, and the support really helps the bio-mechanics of the feet and legs. Not only that, the brand have so many different choices of stylish footwear whatever your taste, age or size. Whats not to love?!
Meet ‘Mara’ from Vionic
I’m a huge fan of chelsea boots and good old biker-chick styles, and this hybrid boot from Vionic’s latest collection, looks as good with jeans as it does with a smart pair of trousers..or even a maxi skirt. The leather is so sumptuous on the Mara, with its burnished toes and heels, it’s a tough, yet malleable oiled leather. Also being weather-proof, these sturdy but stylish boots are definitely a no-brainer for me, especially with the ‘good old British weather’, and living in the countryside.
To clean and protect my boots, I use a good leather oil/balm and work into the leather, leave for a few hours, then rub well with a clean soft cloth. Saddle soap is also another option I use.
The tread on the sole of the Mara has superb grip, so there’s no worries of slipping up and landing on the old bum! The sturdy ankle gusset allows ease of movement as you walk, and adds a difference in texture to look of the boot. Plus, its helpful when putting them on, including good strong finger pulls at the back of the boot. The buckle strap can be adjusted for size, although it is mainly decorative.
I did have to get the front of mine professionally stretched, as I found the toe section a bit hard on mu painful tendons, so I needed a bit of help in breaking them in. I love that Vionic have supportive insoles, they really help my arches, and the sole of this boot is sturdy yet super comfortable when walking.
The comfort, support and style the Mara provides is awesome, and the quality of this leather is beautiful. I was kindly gifted these by Vionic, but I have to say, they are getting so much wear and will be a go-to for me this winter. I am in love with quality and support they give me, plus they look stylish and super expensive.
Once again, Vionic prove that ‘Style doesn’t have to hurt‘! We don’t have to wear fashionable footwear that hurts and causes issues, as brands like this will help look after your feet and legs in the long term. If you’re looking for some fab boots this winter, I highly recommend the Mara!
