Hi guys, I hope you’re all doing well, as we head speedily along towards (dare I say it)…Christmas! After a really tough and very sad year, I have some good news to share with you. Plus, in this post, there are some fab products I would recommend to see you through winter and the party season.
I’m really excited to announce that I am now an ambassador for my favourite makeup brand, Bobbi Brown and cannot tell you how happy this makes me! I’m sure if you are a regular to my Instagram feed, you will know the amount of products by the brand (makeup and skincare), that I use and have featured over the years. So, I want to share just a few of my favourite products, plus a gorgeous new eye palette to take me through this season.. and beyond.
Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base
When it comes to getting down to ‘base-ics’, I love using this moisturising primer hybrid that preps skin for makeup. It contains moisturising Shea Butter plus Vitamins B, C and E, plus Geranium and Grapefruit oils (providing a subtle yet uplifting scent).
I’m not a huge fan of many primers tbh, but this blend nurtures and cares for skin, helping it become soft, plump and dewy. VEFB leaves skin bouncy and supple, offering a sublime canvas for makeup, giving skin a boost of hydration and vibrancy. It helps to achieve a seamless, glowing skin finish to any look. Although being super hydrating, it’s an oil-free formula that works well for oily skins, as well as dry and thirsty skins like mine. It’s a product I always repurchase as I hate being without, and I highly recommend trying if you haven’t yet. Your face will thank you for it!
*This one was kindly gifted as one of my ambassador picks
Vitamin Enriched Face Base really does deserve a gold star!
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15
I use a few of the Bobbi Brown bases, but I fell in love with this one about 18 months ago. Skin Foundation is a lightweight fluid that is oil-free, yet it offers a rich, long-lasting moisturising finish. Containing light-reflecting pigments, it allows skin to have that ‘lit from within’ look. Bobbi Brown have always catered for an array of skin tones and colours, and this formula is available in 25 shades. Although I have a drier more mature skin, this contains Glycerin, so it provides the skin with moisture. It has a slightly more matte but bright, dewy finish, yet minus any heaviness.
It can be applied how you wish, but I find the taking time to use a Bobbi brown flat Foundation Brush, in downward strokes over the skin, offers a seamless finish. It helps to minimise pores and imperfections, plus the bonus is that is has a broad spectrum spf.
Skin Foundation comes in a glass bottle with a good pump dispenser. Here I have shade Beige (*gifted), as I have some warmth in my skin still, but in my drawer is Warm Sand for late winter, for when I’m paler. In BB bases, I am a neutral tone (having a bit of yellow and a bit of pink in my skin), and tend to be around the shades ; beige/natural/medium.
Bobbi Brown Luxe Eyeshadow
When it comes to eyeshadows, Bobbi Brown have been my ‘go-to’s’ for years, as they provide such an array of shades and formulations, plus…they don’t irritate my sensitive eyes like many brands do. As it is fast approaching party season, I would recommend these for adding some serious glam. Beautifully packaged, they contain a mirror and a single eyeshadow that offers multi-dimensional metallic colour. These can be used dry, or wet for a chrome effect. Any of you sparkle ‘Magpies’ out there will love them!
Luxe shadows come in several shades that include these 3 variations ;
Rich Lustre: for a high-impact sparkle.
Rich Metal: for a molten foil effect.
Rich Sparkle: for a super-charged sparkle.
I have a gunmetal shade that I love to use for a glam evening look (see below), and I did have a gold, but it got dropped last winter and I’ve not got around to replacing it *eye roll*. For one of my picks, I chose a colour I’d lusted after for while, the gorgeous Poison Ivy (to bring out the green in my eyes), shown below. It has a kind of peacock vibe, a vibrant green that gives off hues of blue, and silver. The pigment is fab, offering up different tones in different light. I prefer to use my finger with these, unless I want a more vibrant look, then I use a wet brush. Don’t worry, when using wet, these eyeshadows won’t die on you like some, and can be used over and over.

Below : Serpentine (Rich Metal)
These allow glamorous metallic looks yet, without glitter-ball effect, or glitter particles getting everywhere. For a more crepey lid like mine, they are really good. So, an older Cinderella shall go to the ball! (Sorry, corny I know, but true).
All 3 of these products are some of my Bobbi Brown faves, and although kindly gifted by the brand, are ones I use on a regular basis. Maybe sharing them might inspire you to try one or two, but if you love any already, let me know in the comments box.
Bobbi Brown ‘In A Flash’ Eye Shadow Palette (new season)
When I saw this over on the gram, I thought, ‘Ooh hello pretties’, and I’m a sucker for a smokey eye, so this palette with its seasonal shimmer won me over. Besides, its my birthday soon, any old excuse and all that, so I ordered it up ‘In A Flash’ ..(sorry!).
She does not disappoint! See swatches below…
There are 12 shades which include sparkle, metallic, chrome metal and matte formulas, ideal for the party season. The collection was apparently inspired by the sparkling lights on Fifth Avenue in New York. This pretty, metallic patterned palette, also has a full sized mirror plus magnetic closure…whats not to love?!
Shade swatches as pictured above ~
Top row : Day Break, Gilded Honey (sparkle), Midnight Burgundy (metallic), Crystal Ball (sparkle), Steel Thunder (chrome metal), Electric Blue (chrome metal).
Bottom row : Speakeasy Sparkle (chrome metal), Nude Petal, Fireworks (metallic), Velvet Dusk, Candied Lilac (chrome metal), Blackout.
I am still enjoying playing with this palette, and hope to create some looks to share with you over the coming weeks. The colours are varied, so there is plenty of choice for wearable day looks, and then richer deeper/shimmering shades to take it to party glam. It’s not just a palette for Christmas, but one that I know I will go back to time and time again.
I hope you like some of my brand picks, along with the shades in this gorgeous new palette. Even though I’ve been blogging for almost 5 years now (where did that go?!), not as much the last 2 due to health and losing my gorgeous dog, but I’m a small blogger. So… I’m sure you’ll appreciate how proud and pleased I am to be an Bobbi Brown ambassador, a brand that I’ve used and been a fan of for a long time (over 2 decades)!
N.B. I also have their exciting new lippies to share with you very soon, so watch this space…
