Christmas Gift Ideas – Mens Skincare

Hi guys and happy December, how fast has this year flown by?! So as its gifting time, I’m sharing a couple of gift ideas for the guys. Sometimes, they can be difficult to buy for when it comes to Christmas, especially if you can’t afford the latest gadget they’re drooling over! These days, more and more guys are loving they’re skincare, so just throwing a few ideas out there, for the men in your life.

A few decades ago, the male skincare industry was nowhere near as big as it is today. Men were not that really into taking care of their skin, either due to the lack products, or it as being seen as not macho. The main male grooming product back then was aftershave, and I’m sure some of you are with me in remembering those corny ads for Brut and Old Spice! (LOL) Thankfully, times have changed, and most guys want to look after their skin, and feel as good about themselves as much as women do. Here are just a few products worth putting under the tree for them this year.

Elemis Male Grooming Collection

I have given my guy Elemis since our first Christmas as a couple, as this British aromatherapy brand know what works when it comes to treating male skins. This set contains 4 gorgeous products for both face and body, in simple, masculine packaging, yet sleek enough for his bathroom shelf. Luckily, he hasn’t read my blog for a long time now, so this shouldn’t spoil the surprise!

This set contains :

Black Soap Body Wash (150ml) – with bamboo charcoal, acacia honey and Moroccan oil to help draw out impurities

Daily Moisture Boost (50ml) – a lightweight moisturiser to immediately hydrate skin after shaving

Deep Cleanse Facial Wash (50ml) – a cleansing gel with oak bark, spearmint and peppermint in a milk protein base, which helps cleanse deeply

Smooth Result Shave & Beard Oil (30ml) – a multi-purpose, face and beard-smoothing oil. Softens bristles and prepares skin for a fab close shave, OR, works as a grooming/styling product for beards/moustaches.

2 different set choices available, comes in a gorgeous gift box. Find at QVCUK priced at around £35 – £39.

Egyptian Magic – Multi-purpose Cream

A cream/balm for guys to use on different areas of the face or body, depending on their needs. It helps moisturise and nourish, plus treats skin irritations like cuts, redness, eczema and burn relief. There are endless uses for guys with this little pot of magic, many of which I’ve listed below.

Contains : Olive oil, Beeswax, honey, bee pollen, royal jelly and bee propolis. 100% natural, No additives, GMO, preservatives, fragrances, chemicals or parabens. Not tested on animals.

Uses ; moisturiser, overnight mask, cuticle softener, chapped hand treatment, scar and stretch mark healing treatment, eye cream, shaving balm, ingrowing hair treatment, sunburn, heel and elbow softener, lubricant, massage medium, eyebrow and hair tamer, spot treatment.

Samaya Ayurvedic Moisturiser  – “Kapha”

Ethical and Ayurvedic brand Samaya, have 3 ranges ; ‘Kapha, Vata or Pitta’, depending on your Dosha type, formulated to bring balance and wellbeing to the skin.

A moisturiser in a glass bottle with a pump, with organic ingredients to help treat signs of ageing. It has a beautiful deep aroma suited to guys, form ingredients including Ashwagandha, Vetiver, Frankincense and Sandalwood.

Simon (hubby), has been using this on his skin for a few weeks now. He loves the scent of it, along with the non-sticky feel of the lotion which he finds absorbs so well. His skin gets dry and zapped of moisture, cycling 10 miles a day to and from work in all weather. Yet the organic botanicals and hyaluronic acid in this are helping to replenish, soften and plump his skin, by using 1-2 pumps.

Ingredients : Water, Almond Oil, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Olivate, Wheatgerm Oil, Safflower Seed Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Ribose, Sorbitan Olivate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Ashwagandha Root Extract, Sandalwood Oil, Vetiver Root Oil, Frankincense Oil, Turmeric Root Oil, Gotu Kola Leaf Extract, Rose Flower Oil, Aloe Leaf Juice Powder, Sage Leaf Oil, Rosemary Leaf Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Vitamin E, Lysolecithin, Pullulan, Xanthan Gum, Sclerotium Gum, Phytic Acid, Sodium Levulinate, Sodium Anisate.

I have used a couple Samaya products in the past, finding them decadent and enjoyable skin rituals. Check out the details.

The natural botanical ingredients are free-from ; parabens, sulphates, phthalates, petrochemicals, mineral oils, silicones, synthetic fragrances and colours. No animal testing, and fully recyclable packaging.

Find this 50ml size at Samaya for £89.

Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate

Guys need a serum, especially as their skin goes through turmoil due to shaving. An oil will help replenish lost moisture whilst soften the hair follicle at the same time. Si has enjoyed using this on on and off for a few years now, so I can recommend for guys, either to use under moisturiser, or as a night treatment.

This light facial oil (ideal for guys who don’t like heavy products), revitalizes and energizes any look of fatigued, dehydrated skin. It helps soften the appearance of fine lines, whilst addressing issues of dryness and dull looking skin.

Main ingredients : Ginger Root, Sunflower and Tamanu.

Paraben free, 100% natural origin, mineral oil free, non-comedogenic, non-acnegenic.

Find 38ml at SpaceNK priced at £38.

Make a guy in your life happy to treat his skin, by slipping one of these products under the tree!

These are some lovely gift ideas. I’ve given up buying skincare for Dan. He’s useless and it always ends up wasted. If he was a skincare buff, I’d definitely pick up the Elemis set. Looks fab and a favourite brand of mine! x
