DHC Lip Cream and Oiled Cotton Buds

The more I try products from this Japanese cosmetics range, the more I find they do some really fab products, and currently, I am absolutely loving DHC lip cream and oiled cotton buds.

DHC Lip Cream

There are so many lip balms on the market but the difference is, some are mediocre and others do the job, and these cover the latter. It’s shaped more like a lipstick and a fab shape to apply. It glides on leaving a glossy, protective and clear creamy layer on the lips of which you can layer up without it being too sticky.

Ingredients  : lanolin oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, candelilla wax, lanolin, beeswax, stearic acid, olive fruit oil, squalane, pentylene glycol, panax ginseng root extract, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, tocopherol, phenoxyethanol, stearyl glycyrrhetinate.

I find it’s really hydrating on the lips with its ingredients of Aloe, Vitamin E and olive oil. This balm prevents any chapping, and even ‘that bit’ you get in the middle of your top lip that some of us *coughs*, nibble off at times. It keeps them looking glossy as well as moisturised so it can be used alone for a natural sheen, or over the top of a fave lippy to turn it into a gloss. I’m not sure why DHC called this a cream rather a balm, because it is what is is, however I’m hooked.

DHC Virgin Olive Oil Swabs

Sorry, but I call them cotton buds, a swab is taken in medical circumstances. Containing Olive Fruit Oil, these pre-wrapped little buds are so handy for makeup mistakes. They’re also recommended for cleaning delicate areas such as eyes, ears and noses plus, they’re gentle enough to use on a baby’s skin.

They’re individually wrapped, are made of 100% cotton and infused with virgin olive (fruit) oil. I was amazed at how good they were at removing even waterproof eyeliner and mascara mistakes, it’s like having an oily eye makeup remover on a stick..I only wish they’d been around over 20 years ago!

Below images showing the stages of removing DHC’s Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in black (see my review for the liner here). It does the job so well. Yes, each bud contains oil so it will be oily, so you may need a tissue to dab away the oil. Not sure wether I would use in my ears but they’re great for makeup mistakes, and also for oiling around the cuticles to hydrate nails. These are so handy to chuck in your bag for when you might need one.

These are now definitely on my beauty go-to list and I don’t want to be without them. Good on ya DHC, never thought I would be giving such an amazing review on these two products but, they’re pretty awesome!

DHC Lip Cream retails at around £7-95 for 1.6 gm and Oiled Cotton Buds at £5.50 for 50 individually wrapped buds. Available at DHCUK and escentual.com
