Health Edit | Current Wellness Products

As a health post is about due on the blog, I thought I would share a few wellness products I have been using recently. There is an assortment here, plus an update on some supplements featured a few months ago.

Spacemasks – £15 for a box of 5

I can only start by telling you that I have found a new friend in these little packs of relaxation, or ‘interstellar relaxation‘ masks, as they are described. There are innovative, pretty amazing, and quite frankly, look to be massive! Don’t be fooled into thinking these are skincare though, these are magic little masks that you place over the eyes, to take you off somewhere dreamy with the experience they provide.

Contains : Iron powder and Jasmine essence

If you are buzzing but tired, these will help you to relax, yet…completely recharge a dead battery you might have! When you open the pack and take out a mask, the air hits the ingredients and activates the iron powder inside. Don’t worry, they are harmless to use and totally therapeutic, and have a very subtle scent of soothing Jasmine.

Usage : Find a quiet space to sit or lie back and relax, apply the soft cotton mask by hooking the loops around your ears, with the long split at the bottom allowing comfort and room for the nose. Keep on for 10 – 30 minutes, to feel the benefit. A warmth omits from the mask which spreads over and around the eyes, and helps ease any tension that can build up at the bridge of the nose and forehead. The feeling is quite surreal, although a nice feeling, so be prepared for soothing sensations and just maybe.. seeing colours! When these have fully performed their magic function, the iron powders will start to clump in the mask, so discard in the bin.

The first time I used one of these, having been kindly sent one to try, I had a lot of tension in my forehead and was quite run down and tired. I tried it, and surprisingly, the tension lifted a little. It did not completely rid me of my headache, but after using, I felt wide awake and my eyes felt so much brighter. It gave me a boost, relaxed my eye muscles and just made me feel better. It was still warm, so I handed it to hubby to enjoy 10 minutes of it, and it made him feel completely relaxed.

These are fab for tiredness, tension, in-flight relaxation, eye strain (when using pads/phones/computers etc.), headaches, congestion, and also ‘get me outta here’ type situations, when you need to de-stress. Ideal for generally chilling out, for those times when you just need a little something different to unwind with, and re-boot.

Above – Just chillin’, not a pretty sight, but my mind is so soothed here that I wouldn’t care anyway!

I then ordered a box after my initial experience, and have since used 3 and given 2 away to ladies in need (being the generous gal that I am). One actually helped me fall asleep for a short while on my bed, during one of my headaches, which for me is usually a pretty difficult achievement. I am suffering with really bad hot flushes at the moment, so it will be interesting to see when I get my next box, if they help or irritate with their warmth. I am also wandering wether a similar product could be made to produce a cold sensation, as I love cold to help soothe a migraine, so that would be fantastic.

I think these masks are great products, ideal for travel and gifting, and I would highly recommend them for a totally new experience in relaxation and rejuvenation.

Tisserand Lavender Wheat Cushion – £17.95

Wheat bags are popular amongst many a chronic pain sufferer, but they are slso helpful for different needs and situations. The pure French Lavender flowers provide aromatherapeutic benefits, the calming scent helps to ease anxiety and stress. This cushion can be used hot or cold, so great for summer and winter, or, depending on how/what you wish to treat with it.

Usage : For a heat treatment, put the cushion in a microwave for up to 2 minutes if 800W, or 2.5 if less. Rest on the area of the body to let the heat radiate into the muscle/joint. For a cold treatment, put in a sandwich/freezer bag to protect and place in the freezer for around 3 hours prior to using. Take out and place on the area to allow the cold to penetrate the muscle or joint.

These are great for those like me with chronic pain, also for sports injuries or everyday strains and aches. If an area of the body is inflamed, it is usually better to apply to as a cold pack. If the muscles/joints are tight and cold, then it is helpful to use as a heat pack. I love these in winter and find them lovely when warm to place around tense neck/shoulders, but also beneficial cold, helping to ease migraine pain, while the scent promotes relaxation.

Do not reheat the cushion until it has completely cooled down. To refresh the Lavender, a few drops of pure essential oil can be added on the cushion when needed. The cover is a soft brushed cotton, length 56 cm, width 14 cm, so long enough to place around lower back, across shoulders, around a limb. It comes in a handy storage bag which helps the scent to last, whilst protecting the cushion, helping its longevity.

A really handy health product for any family health cabinet, as there are so many different uses for a wheat bag, and something I call a must-have product, especially when living with chronic pain.

Regenerate Enamel Science Toothpaste & Treatment Kit

I have wanted to try this brand for a while now, and was recently lucky to receive not only the toothpaste, but the boosting serum as well. So, I set to using straight away and am already happy with some subtle results, which I have not had with whitening products.

These clinically proven Regenerate products help improve tooth enamel, and being 50, my enamel is already quite worn and I have some staining. I am using the toothpaste everyday, plus the 3-day intensive treatment kit to help boost the effects.

Regenerate Serum Boosting Kit – £30

This 2-phase kit contains a tube of NR-5 Serum, a tube of Activator Gel, two custom-fit mouth trays, plus a little storage compact, a mixing tool and full instructions. This is clinically proven to restore hardness and mineral content of tooth enamel, and boost the effectiveness of the enamel restoring toothpaste by 43%!

Ingredients : NR-5 Serum: Glycerin, Calcium Silicate, PEG-8, Trisodium Phosphate, Sodium Phosphate, Aqua, PEG-60, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Monoflourophosphate, Aroma/flavour, Hydrated Silica, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Sodium Saccharin, Polyacrylic Acid, Tin Oxide, CI 77891, Limonene. Activator gel: Aqaua, Glycerin, Cellulose, Gum, Sodium Flouride, Benzyl Alchohol, Ethylexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, CI 42090. Contains: Sodium MOnofluorophosphate (NR-5 Serum) and Sodium Fluoride (activator Gel). 1450 ppm Fluoride

Usage : For 3 nights in a row, once a month. Add a layer of the serum in each mouth tray, with a layer of the activator gel over the top of the serum, & mix. Place both trays in the mouth over upper and lower teeth for 3 minutes. The trays are soft and pliable and I found them fine to use, but if you gag and cannot use both together, it is okay to do one at a time. After the 3 minutes is up, rinse mouth and guards well with water.

Regenerate Advanced Toothpaste – £10 100ml tube, £2.50 for 14ml travel size

This gentle, minty flavoured toothpaste is powered by NR-5™ technology, (exclusive and clinically proven), which forms a fresh supply of enamel mineral by wrapping around the teeth. This integrates the formula in to the teeth, and regenerates the enamel mineral. After a while, this is suggested to help return teeth to their natural whiteness, along with reducing any sensitivity.

IngredientsGlycerin, Calcium Silicate, PEG-8, Hydrated Silica, Trisodium Phosphate, Sodium Phosphate, Aqua, PE-60, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Monofluorophospate, AromaFlavour, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Sodium Saccharin, Polyacrylic Acid, Tin Oxide, Limonene, C177891.

I have been a light smoker for many years, and not visited the hygienist in well over a year, so my teeth were looking a bit yellow, with some staining. I have been using the toothpaste daily for 3 weeks now, using the serum booster kit once, and I can honestly say that I am already noticing a difference in the whiteness of my teeth. There is still bit of staining, but the shade is brighter, and I have had less sensitivity recently. All in all, I am pretty impressed so far! It may seem pricey for a toothpaste, but we spend money on our skin etc so I feel if it brings results, it is worth the cost. So, I will keep you updated in my next health post in 2-3 months time.

Both the Regenerate toothpaste and kit are available from Boots, and Look Fantastic.

Bumblezest Health Drinks – around £2.95 each, various health/online stores

We all now how healthy it is, to begin a day with a squeeze of fresh lemon in a glass of hot water, well, these new tasty health shots are a few steps up from that. First created in a London kitchen, these 100% natural  health drinks can be enjoyed in water, or, as a shot on the go. I was kindly sent a box of three to trial, each blend containing botanicals, herbs and just a drop of ethical British Honey, or Agave, plus a drop of Stevia to naturally sweeten. These completely natural drinks are aimed at helping improve health, vitality, skin, managing weight, plus vitality and overall wellbeing.

Shake, dilute or down!

The healthy, tasty Bumblezest drinks can be added to a glass of water for a refreshing and revitalising drink, or, they can be used as a shot, so great for on the go. I chose to take each of mine as shots, getting a real hit of the natural ingredients.

There are protein, vegan and vegetarian drink options available, all drinks are low calorie, plus nut, gluten and lactose free, and all are made without using chemicals/preservatives or GMOs.

The first, and rather potent drink I tried, was made from Turmeric, Ginger, Collagen, Cinnamon, Black Pepper, 1/2 a Lemon, plus a drop of both Honey and Stevia. With an amazing colour, this had a superbly  zingy flavour, a good shot for helping inflammation in the body, and also for gut health.

The 2nd contained Matcha, Moringa, Ginseng, 1/2 a Lemon, Vanilla, Mint, Cinnamon & a drop of Honey. A great one to use as an energy booster, with a tasty flavour.

Suitable for Vegans, the last one (and possibly my fave), has Chamomile, Lavender, Spirulina, Mint
Cinnamon, Pink Himalayan Salt, 1/2 a Lemon, plus a drop of each of Agave and Stevia. A beautiful fresh, soothing flavour for a health and energy boost.

I found these all natural shots had amazing colours due to the natural ingredients, were superbly tasty. and really good for boosting energy, which is something I always need a helping hand with, having tiring Fibromyalgia. I am looking forward to these being more widely sold, as currently London seem to have the main stockists. Really wholesome and perfected, these nutrient rich drinks are great for everyone (over the age of 1). Ideal for lunch boxes, gym bags, and for anyone looking to up their health game and get a natural energy boost, especially those who struggle with poor health and fatigue.

There is so much more info on their site worth checking out..head to Bumblezest to discover more.

Perfectil Max – Update

I have just finished these supplements this week, and to follow up my post where they are featured here, I want to fill you in on my findings after 3 months.

Perfectil Max for hair, skin and nail support, have been easy to take with no side effects at all, but the growth in my hair and nails has been really good! Any of you that follow my Instagram may have seen my recent stories, and noticed the length of my hair lately. Admittedly I use good products on my hair, but I swear these have helped. From what was a long bob about 3 months ago is now almost touching my bra strap at the back. Plus my nails, although I still get a little peeling due to chronic illness and medication, are growing much faster. Each time I file them down, within a week they are over my fingertips again.

Although I cannot really say there is a difference in my skin. Due to my health and lack of sleep, even though I use fab skincare products, I do find keeping my skin in a constant state difficult. I suffer from dehydrated and sometimes sensitive skin, so I do not really feel these have made a difference facially. However, I do have a drier skin which, results in me quite often having slightly dry, scaly skin on my legs after bathing. I do feel there has been a slight improvement here, so I feel not all is lost.

I would definitely recommend trying a 3 month course of these, if you want to see some results in hair and nail growth. I cannot quite believe my hair especially, and have had many comments from family members on how fast it has grown. I do feel these have definitely helped, so i am pleased with the results.

Don’t forget to check out the details and availability of Perfectil in my original post here.

I hope some of these health products are of interest to you, and I will be back with another edit in a few months, probably all ready for Autumn.

Sometimes organic “healthy” products can seem too alternative with no tangible benefits. I like the fact you’ve had good results and the products you describe are very desirable- I’d like to try them all!
