Nuxe Summer Products & Sun Protection Giveaway

Popular Parisian brand Nuxe, have provided high performance beauty since the 1990’s, utilising nature with plant formulas, and products to provide sensory experiences that give results. Being a fan, I want to share some info on a few bits from their summer range, plus I’m holding a giveaway for a chance to win yourself some Nuxe sun protection.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse® Dry oil (limited edition) – £29 for 100ml

I don’t know many people who are not a fan of the famous Nuxe dry oil, especially in summer and for holiday skin. I love the understated simplicity yet beauty of this oil, one of my faves being the shimmer, which looks fabulous on tanned skin..then there’s that scent! Aimed to hydrate and soften the skin, plus help with signs of ageing, it is packed with nutrient rich oils ; Borage, Camellia, Tsubaki, Sweet Almond, Hazelnut, Macadamia and Argan.

As Nuxe are celebrating their 25th anniversary, they have brought out 3 limited edition colour themed bottles of their uber popular Huile Prodigieuse, with a spray delivery (yay!). I have Passion, pictured above, the 2 other varieties are Emotion and Beauty. This top selling, multi-use dry oil can be used on the body, along with the hair, either on the ends to add condition and shine or, as a 10 minute pre-shampoo treatment. The famous pretty fragrance has notes of Vanilla, Magnolia and Orange Blossom, leaving the skin, or hair, delicately scented. To me it screams summer and when applied before an evening out, is definitely alluring. If you are a Nuxe fan like me, I think you will agree, that summer wouldn’t quite be summer without a bottle of gorgeous Huile Prodigieuse.

Now for the sun protection

*Remember – UVB (protects against ‘Burning’ the surface layer of skin via short ultra violet waves). UVA (protects against ‘Ageing’, of new cells in the lower layers of the skin, from long ultraviolet waves)* Always make sure your spf provides both UVB and UVA protection.

Forget sticky, boring suncreams that can sometimes be a chore. These gorgeous sun protection products, offer a sensory experience in the form of sun protection, with their textures and scents. The Nuxe SPFs are enriched with patented Water Hyacinth to protect, hydrate and soften skin. Plus Kau Pe flower to relieve and soothe any sensations of burning (but please don’t allow yourself to get that far!) The combination of powerful natural antioxidants paired with a plant precursor to DNA, limits skin ageing and repair, when using properly in the sun (always follow product advice for use). These products, make using sun protection rather an addictive experience, they smell amazing!

Nuxe Milky Spray Medium Protection (Face & Body) SPF20 – £18 for 150ml

This lotion has both UVB & UVA protection, and is suitable for using on your face and body. It provides protection on a surface and cellular level to help prevent ageing in the sun, containing sun and water flowers, and comes in an easy delivery spray bottle.

I have used this product in the past, and with its light fluid texture, works easily into the skin, the spray bottle making it so easy to use. This has a lovely delicate fragrance, ideal for summer, coming from notes of Sweet Orange, Tahitian Gardenia and Vanilla. Skin feels moisturised after application, and is left with a slight sheen (see above image), but thankfully there is no sticky residue. It is pleasant to use and helps promote a lovely natural tan, whilst protecting the skin. Although, always use often in the sun as suggested.

Ingredients : Aqua, Dethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate, Ethylhexyl, Methoxycinnamate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glycerin, Diethylhexyl Succinate, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Ethylhexyl Triazone, Phenyl Trimethicone, C14-22 Alcohols, Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Hull Powder, Parfum, Dimethicone, Benzyl Alcohol, Tocopherol, Capryloyl Glycine, Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) Seed Oil, Myristyl Alcohol, Citric Acid, C12-20 Alkyl Glucoside, Tocopheryl Acetate, Sodium Hydroxide, Eichhornia Crassipes Extract, Xanthan Gum, Myristyl Glucoside, Dimethiconol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tetrasodium edta, Dehydroacetic Acid, Inositol, Ethyl Ferulate, Polyglyceryl-5 Trioleate, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Disodium Uridine Phosphate, Fagraea Berteroana Flower Extract, Benzyl Salicylate, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Citronellol.

Application tips : Apply liberally before going out into the sun (it is important not to miss patches of skin otherwise you will not be protected). Re-apply plenty and often, especially after sweating, swimming/towel drying.

Nuxe Delicious Cream High Protection (Face & Body) SPF30 -£17 for 50ml

Ever so slightly richer in texture than the above spray, this again is suitable for both face and body. A higher protection with SPF 30, containing sun and water flowers, with UVB & UVA protection for the epidermis and cellular layer. Applied liberally and regularly, this helps prevent burning and ageing, whilst encouraging a natural tan.

Coming in a tube, this is another easy to work with texture with the beautiful scent. It sinks into the skin leaving it hydrated and soft, and is designed to work on delicate facial skin, without leaving that tinge of white that some can. Even though this is slightly heavier than the spray lotion, it still doesn’t leave you all sticky. I love the typical subtle Nuxe fragrance it leaves on the skin, whilst the oils nourish and soften.

I love love love Nuxe products, in fact I’ve just applied the shimmer dry oil today and I am feeling so summery. I really like the look of the milky spray as I’m not a fan of regular sun cream and find it too messy whereas this looks like a dream to apply. xx

I have the original oil an lip balm from this brand which I love. I so want to try the Special Anniversary oil but need to finish all my products off first, but judging from your excitement of the product it will be harder to wait. The sun products sound really good and they have good protection so can be used on holiday and in the UK. Great competition, I have entered this and the Pixi one.

Oh I love the Riev de miel lip and hand products too! Yes, the spray is good and I love the brand signature fragrance within the products, so summery.

Thanks for this review! I really want to get the special edition Nuxe oil, but I don’t think it’s available yet in Australia. Whereabouts did you purchase it?

    • 13th July 2017 / 8:56 am

You’re welcome, thanks for stopping by. You may be able to purchase from Feel Unique website, but obviously theres the extra cost. its quite widely available here and Macs & Spencer stock it, so its quite easy to pick up. It is the bottles that are different so if you simply love the oil, I guess it is deciding is it worth the extra for shipping.
