Pastel shades are adorable in Spring, and I have a couple of the New ‘Orly Breathable’ polishes to share with you. These are 13-free formulas, which are also good for the nails, plus, cut down polish application time. Being a bit of a nail addict, I love trying new formulations and dislike plain nails, so fresh new colours are always on my radar.
Orly Breathable Treatment & Colour ~ £13 for 18 ml bottle
This new polish formula does not need a base or topcoat, so hello out the door in no time nails! Plus, these are claimed to help prevent peeling and chipping of your colour, whilst ensuring healthier nails with the addition of Argan Oil, Pro-Vitamin B5 & Vitamin C.
The Breathable range are 13-free, formulated without the following : Toluene, Formaldehyde, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor, Ethyl Tosylamide, Xylene, Triphenyl Phosphate (TPP), MEHQ/HQ, MIT, Parabens, Animal Derived Ingredients or Gluten. Plus, they are Halal certified.
Just Breathe is a pretty Periwinkle cream polish, befitting the recent Lilac shade trend. Ideal for a denim day or for wearing with pretty spring/summer dresses. Colour is an easy way to accessorise any outfit, and brighten up plain work suits to add freshness and vitality for the warmer seasons.
Fresh Start is a a bright mint green cream polish. Think total colour pop with this, a fresh bright spearmint that is definitely a suitable shade for holidays, plus looks good on all skin tones.
I like the brush handles of Orly polishes, they are shaped well and made of silicone, making them really easy to grip. The brushes are wide and cut with a slight curve at the end, enabling one clean sweep for applying colour to the nail plate. I hate straight brushes as nails are curved, so these fit perfectly when stroking colour up from the cuticle.
Application : Simply apply 2 coats (allowing to dry in between), no basecoat or topcoat needed. Breathable has a creamy formula but not thick or gloopy, applies smoothly and evenly, with no streaks. The coverage provides a good colour payoff and density, and is a true match to the shade in the bottle.
I have found the ORLY Breathable formulations so easy to apply. My nails seem to be in good condition after wearing these, even without the help of my usual nail-feeding base coat. I have had the odd chip, but then I’m always cleaning, typing, and due to my health recently, nail condition tends to suffer. I’m hoping with continuous wear that they improve, due to the hydrating and strengthening ingredients that these polishes have. There are a couple more shades from the range on my wish list for summer, but I am currently wearing these a lot, they’re such fun and brighten up the hands.
