A bit about the brand : Designed for use by makeup artists, this British based and Italian made (the best for manufacturing makeup) range, is high quality with good pigment and smooth formulations. It sells in several countries around the globe, yet became available in the UK at Marks & Spencer a couple of years ago. All products are free from alcohol, parabens and fragrance, plus are suitable for all skin types.

Lola Blush

This is a soft textured, creamy powder blush that adds great colour. It is fine for all skin types and gives a glow to the complexion. you don’t need to be heavy-handed with this as it has great colour payoff. I have shade 005 ~ a pinky-peach tone.

Price ~ £14

Lola Eyeshadow  (singles)

With an array of colours, these can be used for a strong, bold look or a natural one, but there’s colours with everyone in mind. Emollient oils and silicon particles provide an ultra-silky touch, and have good adherence to the skin. I found them very soft, creamy powders  which are easy to apply. Again great payoff and they lasted well. I have Satin ~ shade 014, a soft brown with a hint of shimmer & Matte ~ shade 029, a creamy beige. See swatches below.

Price ~ £10 each.

Lola Eyeshadow Flat Brush

A fab eye tool with a good shape for getting into the crease contour, great if you’re starting to lose the lid definition like me. Easy to hold, this brush’s hairs are really soft, blending shadows well and looks sleek in black.

Price ~ £10

Lola Mega Volume Mascara

This has a fab large brush that lengthens and volumes even anaemic lashes like mine, and I don’t usually wear brown mascara but found this to be a nice shade. Containing hydrolysed silk, this goes on well, doesn’t clog and produces great pigment on the lashes. I do find it dries a little several hours later, and can easily come away from the lashes if rubbed. However, I have sensitive eyes and had absolutely no irritation wearing this mascara.

Price ~ £12     *(I found this is no longer available at M&S online)

Ingredients : Aqua, glyceryl stearate , montan cera, castor seed oil, stearic acid, vp/hexadecane copolymer, acrylates copolymer, polyvinyl alcohol, triethanolamine , propylene glycol, c12‐16 alcohols, glycerin, cera microcristallina, copernicia cerifera cera, hydrolysed silk, hydroxypropyl chitosan, alcohol, ethylparaben, phenoxyethanol , sodium dehydroacetate, palmitic acid, butylparaben, isobutylparaben, lecithin, potassium sorbate, tocopherol, ascorbyl palmitate, methylparaben , citric acid, silica, disodium cetyl phenyl ether disulfonate (+/‐: mica, ci 77266, ci 77492, ci 77491, ci 77499, ci 77891, ci 77288)

In the below image, I’m wearing all the Lola pieces featured above. I’m never one for heavy makeup as you’ll know if you’re a regular reader, or follow my Instagram feed. You don’t need to apply too much product with Lola makeup, as a little really does go a long way due to the rich pigment. The blush gives a natural warmth to my face without looking like blusher, the eyeshadows give my eyes a little depth making them stand out, and the mascara gave my lashes fab volume.

p.s. Please excuse my hair, as I’m in the process of growing it so haven’t been to the hairdressers since January. I’m going for a well needed trim at the weekend :)
