Hi guys! I thought I would share with you, some of my current hand and nail product faves. With some fabulous polish formulas, plus skincare to keep hands and nails looking and feeling lovely. The shades are easy and wearable for summer, and also suitable for weddings. During warmer weather, hands and nails can easily get dry and dishevelled, so regular skincare to protect and nourish is a must. So let’s get down to it and show hands some love!

Keeping Hands & Nails Fed & Watered
I use nail oils every day and each time I change my polish. Massaging into the cuticles, I then take it over the hands and nails before applying hand cream. Oils feed the nails and help keep them hydrated whilst promoting growth. One of my favourites is the Botanicals Replenishing Serum which softens the cuticles, as well as helping to reduce lines and wrinkles on the skin on the hands. This smells beautiful too making it a pleasure to use! If I am pushed for time, or unwell and can’t do the ‘full works’, I make sure I massage in a few drops whilst watching tv in the evening.
I have hand creams (and lip balms), absolutely everywhere! Here are three of my favourites which I use regularly, to moisturise and address signs of ageing. For day use, I tend to plump for Decleor and Hand Chemistry formulas. Both of these work on ageing signs on the hands, helping to fade sun spots/pigmentation, whilst firming and moisturising.
Decleor hand cream has a spa scent, with ingredients including Shea Butter, Glycerin, Meadowfoam seed oil and Coconut oil, this nourishes and hydrates. It is so good on all skin types and IMO, is the best aromatherapy based hand cream out there.
A more science based formula, Hand Chemistry Pro-Repair smells of fruity sweets, like Opal Fruits (are they even called that anymore?!). Containing plant oils, Glycerin, Vitamin E plus Copper lysinate, it softens whilst treating 8 signs of ageing. Neither of these formulas leave hands tacky or slippery, they sink right in after working onto the hands, so they are great for busy bees.
Owning many different formulas and scent varieties of L’Occitane hand cream, the Shea Butter Vanilla is one of my absolute faves as a rich treatment (this large size was from a QVCUK set). The smell is divine, and as the Shea butter formulas are ‘heavy duty mamas’, I use when I get into bed at night. Boy does it do the job though! Containing 20% Shea butter, plus Coconut oil, Vitamin E and Glycerin, along with Vanilla seed extract, this provides a real hydrating treatment. When you wake up, hands are super soft and nourished.
Nailing It – Treatments & Polishes
OPI are a brand I have used for many years, not only their professional formula lacquers, but their treatments too. Nail Envy Original is a fab treatment that helps nails get back to a healthy state, which also enables them to grow better. So if nails are battered by having had gels or acrylics, or they simply seem to split and break rather than grow, this stuff will sort them out.
Applying two coats initially under your manicure as a base coat, it can then be applied every other day until a week is up. Then, you remove and do it all over again. When committing to this as a treatment programme, in a few weeks you should be able to see a real difference in the condition of your nails. I sometimes forget and use a couple of times a week, then remove my recent mani, and go again. I always find when I use Nail Envy regularly, the better my nails are. There are other formula variations, but this all rounder is a must have in any nail lovers mani kit.
Now for some colour…
I was kindly sent a few samples of CND Vinylux polishes last autumn, and after trying, I raved about them on my Instagram feed. The latest shades I have are easy to co-ordinating with summer fashions, and most are suitable to wear for a wedding. The formulas apply smoothly and evenly, then by applying the vinyl lookWeekly Top Coat, a manicure will truly last for days!
The Vinylux weekly is fast drying and chip-resistant, plus it leaves nails with a brilliant shine that makes your mani appear to be gels. Its durability is increased with natural light and you don’t even need a base coat. Although I like to use the above Nail Envy to treat my nails, as having chronic illness, they take a battering.
Check out the fab Vinylux shades below…
Above ; Weekly polish in shades Uncovered, a really pale pink, plus Unmasked, a nude taupe.
Below ; nude first then pale pink, both suitable for bridal shades. In summer, these are great, giving extended wear in natural light and caring for nails with Keratin, Jojoba oil and Vitamin E, in the formulas.
Above ; Long-wear polish in shades Jellied, a creamy pale yellow, plus Canded, a creamy baby pink. See swatches below.
CND Vinylux brushes are wide not thin, shaped ergonomically to cover the nail making application easy. I have many polishes/laquers in my mani collection, but over the past couple of months have been wearing these formulas more than any of them. I love them, they are easy to use, look good and they last!
These two shades I love to wear so much, and Jellied is definitely coming on hols with me! I recently snapped a thumb nail half way down the nail bed (ouch). So it was case of cutting it down gradually, and now I am desperately treating my nails and hands, ready for our upcoming holiday in 3 weeks time. Ah…and before I go, I have so many fab products I need to sort for packing, so I will share them with you soon.
I hope you have enjoyed the post, and I’d love to know what your current hand and nail faves are.
