Technology Meets Trend | Vionic Trainers

Hi guys, spring IS out there on the horizon somewhere (past the ‘Beast from the East’), and I am sure, like me, you are loving all the colours and styles appearing for the new season. The retro ‘dad trainer’ is set to be big, along with pastels being among the colour palette trend, so I have a treat to share with you in this post. One of my fave footwear brands have done it again, this time with a fashion led trainer that is packed with awesome technology.

Vionic Thrill – £90

From Vionic’s spring/summer 2018 collection, these fashion-led trainers are so comfortable on the feet, super lightweight, and provide support and tech for walking the distance. They have air-infused memory foam for under foot comfort, plus ‘1st Ray technology’, which, enables flexibility for movement of the big-toe joint (lessening pain in that joint in the ball of the foot). They also have a relaxed toe box, allowing improved natural movement for the big toe, to give a more powerful gait (walk).

Colours : Pink, Grey or Black. Sizing : 3 – 8 including half sizes.

The Thrill are made of perforated leather and cow suede that will last longer than a mesh upper. With moulded EVA outsoles to absorb shock, and memory foam insoles, all engineered into one unit to increase flexibility and comfort. They are also padded all round the ankle and tongue for added comfort, and feature heel cups. Of course, being Vionic, they have the signature FMT technology, a curved insole supporting the arch of the foot to prevent roll-in.

This technology enables the feet and legs to be placed in the correct alignment when walking, which helps to prevent pain. Vionic usually recommend wearing their shoes for a short while for the first few wears, just to get used the different foot alignment/support. Although, I found these so comfortable and did not have to do that with this pair.

These are ideal for indoor exercise and long walks, as with all the foot tech built into the shoe, including the single dual-density unit, it enables bounce back, comfort and support with each step. I recently started exercising and walking more, to help improve my physical and mental wellbeing (see my recent wellness post), and I find these really helpful for the pain issues I have with my heels and plantar fasciitis. Plus, with the FMT orthotic tech in all Vionic shoes, it helps prevent supination of my ankles.

You can check more of the supportive, fashionable Vionic range I wear herehere and here.

I love the look and feel of these gorgeous pastel pink trainers, as they are bang on trend. Currently a go-to for me, I know they will be throughout the spring too, when walking my dog and shopping. I do find them a little hot when wearing socks, so maybe an ‘air-cooled’ memory foam could be an improvement in these. However, I find them okay without socks (or on colder days), and I love the spring they provide in each step, it feels like walking on air. I would definitely recommend them for long walks, plus they are fab for days out on the go, teamed with jeans, smart trousers or joggers. Technology and comfort for feet that are fashion led too, what’s not to love?!
